Why Female Founders?

Female underrepresentation within entrepreneurship and innovation indicates a fundamentally flawed funding system.

Today, only 2% of venture capital funds are allocated to female-led startups.

In total, The World Bank estimates the funding gap between men and women to be valued at £1.3 trillion.

The finance sector needs to implement solutions from the top down to help solve this – such as getting more women on investor panels – but this kind of change takes a long time to come into effect.

So, we decided to do something that can generate results, quickly.

We’re running a Female Founder Accelerator, made up of six weekly workshops designed to get female entrepreneurs ‘investor-ready’.

WEEK 1
NAVIGATING THE WORLD OF FUNDRAISING

TBC

We kick off our six-week Accelerator by opening the floor to each of our cohort members, as well as experts of the corporate finance landscape, who will map out world of funding.

We'll also be joined by female founders who have successfully progressed through the investment journey, offering you first-hand advice and what they wish they'd known to begin with.

Make a great first impression with a new and improved pitch deck. Serkan Ferah from PitchSpace will show you all you need to know to elevate your pitch and excite investors.

This workshop will introduce cohort members to the types, formats, and purpose of a pitch deck, explore the importance of storytelling, and how to find investors’ hot points. You’ll also gain insight into the do’s and don’ts of a pitch deck and what to expect in investor conversations, leaving enough time to answer all your pitch deck Q&As.

WEEK 2

We'll run through where you can find crucial data, how to pick the right customer segment, how to size a market, and so much more.

WEEK 4

The Power Presenter workshop encapsulates more than a decade of research into a model that works for every business, equipping founders with techniques used by the world’s leading presenters.

Understand your audience, learn how to adopt strategic styles, develop unwavering self-confidence, and utilise interactive technology to enhance your performance.

WEEK 6
PITCH NIGHT

TBC

The final workshop of the series puts everything you've learned during the programme into practice, with selected members of the cohort being chosen to present their new and improved pitch.

The pitch night event will give each presenter the chance to receive valuable feedback from the experts and your fellow founders.

With your sharpened skillset and comprehensive feedback, you'll be ready to present your business to that all-important investor panel.
